Frequently asked questions

Are you accepting 2027 assembly concert and workshop bookings (for e.g. Black History Month) right now?
Yes, we are accepting one-day visits to schools, but availability is limited.

What is the difference between Residencies, Workshops, and Assembly Concerts?
Residencies: Consist of at least six days of song, dance and drum workshops with Garth Prince, culminating in a student concert for parents with our live band. Rates start at $5,000.

Workshops: These are ONE or TWO-day school visits for a maximum of two classes per block.
(Accepting bookings for 2026/2027).
Elementary Schools: Drum and Dance Theme

Assembly Concerts: A live interactive concert with Riwo and her band for the entire school. Suitable for all grades, including Junior and Senior High schools.  Rates are $1,800 plus GST and $1,000 per additional concert in the same space on the same day.  Rates do not include travel and accommodation if required when travelling more than 100km from Edmonton.

Does Garth Prince do the workshops and residencies?
No. Garth now supports the organization by training artists and serving on the board of directors. However, Garth teaches in the Amakwaya (choir) program and occasionally leads teacher workshops, with limited availability on evenings and weekends.
Riwo Egor is the primary Artist-in-Residence, with a talented support team of artists and musicians:

"We received an outpouring of positive feedback from families. Parents expressed sincere gratitude for the opportunity provided to their children, and many shared how deeply touched they were by the richness of the performance. It was clear that this experience resonated far beyond the classroom, leaving a meaningful emotional impact on all who attended.
The influence of this residency continues to be felt throughout our school, as students are still talking about their experience and already miss Riwo’s presence. We are incredibly grateful for the expertise, enthusiasm, and joy she and her team brought to Callingwood School. This program has truly enriched our learning community in ways that will be remembered for years to come."
